Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) is a research and development SME in the area of rehabilitation technology and telemedicine with strong formalized links to one of the largest rehabilitation Center in the Netherlands (Roessingh Rehabilitation Center) and the University of Twente. The mission of RRD is to carry out scientific research and contribute to its valorisation and implementation in clinical practice, by close cooperation with clinical centres and industry. A multidisciplinary team of about 45 people including four professors, are striving to realise RRD’s ambition of becoming one of the world’s leading academic centres of excellence in the field. The multidisciplinary team consist of rehabilitation physicians, psychologists, physiotherapists, human movement scientists, computer scientists, ICT developers and biomedical engineers. RRD has extensive experience in all stages of the development of innovative health care services; from initial scenario development with all stakeholders, technology development (ambulant sensing, IT services platform, Decision Support system), user studies focused on usability and user satisfaction and large scale clinical evaluation studies up to implementation of new services in daily clinical practice. This experience has been gained in many large national projects (Awareness, Smart Surroundings, ExoZorg) and international projects (eWall, Perssilaa, HelloDoc, New, CLEAR, IS-Active, Myotel, Navmem, HealthNavigator). RRD has an excellent network in Europe with many clinical centres, companies and Universities.  RRD has developed its own service platform (C3PO; Continuous Care & Coaching Platform) to deliver services to people with chronic conditions, presently including monitoring of health status, triage diary for medication in COPD, web based physical training and an activity coach. The services have been tested extensively in several projects and are now commercially delivered as part of regular care to Rehabilitation Centres and Care and Nursing Centres.
