
The Gérontopôle is the core for all the geriatric activities conducted at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse (CHU-Toulouse). Distributed over 5 sites, the Gérontopôle provides a wide range of clinical activities in different clinical settings (i.e., acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation, day hospital units, post-emergency room units) and subspecialties (i.e., cardiogeriatrics, oncogeriatrics, palliative care), the Gérontopôle coordinates multiple research activities in the field of age-related conditions. In particular, the center is internationally recognized for its expertise on frailty, prevention of disabling conditions, and neurodegenerative diseases.
The Gérontopôle will play a major role in the SPRINTT project by: 1) coordinating and actively working for the successful accomplishment of the WP2; 2) providing its expertise for the optimal development of a clinical friendly operational definition of PF&S; 3) coordinating the francophone recruitment sites of the SPRINTT clinical trial; 4) participating in the recruitment, assessment, and follow-up of the SPRINTT participants; 5) disseminating the SPRINTT results to the scientific community and major stakeholders
