Growing the silver Economy in Europe, 23 September 2014, Brussels (Belgium)

Demographic ageing in Europe and beyond creates challenges for our health and care systems and our national budgets. But it also creates enormous opportunities. The Silver Economy is the new gold. Large new public and consumer markets of the Information and communication technologies  (ICT) products and services for ageing well are developing. Ageing populations are drivers of economic growth. In this light, the European Commission organized the workshop 'Growing the Silver Economy in Europe' to discuss how to best grow a large scale Silver Economy in Europe.

The workshop took place on September 23rd, 2014 and Ilias Iakovidis, DG CONNECT and Maria Iglesia-Gomez, DG SANCO from European Commission highlighted the need to bring stakeholders together to better understand the potential of a silver economy.

For this event, Susanna DEL SIGNORE, was invited by the European Commission as keynote speaker to provide an industry view on the topic, with a focus on Frailty in older patients. An opportunity to present  the SPRINTT Project.
